Reflection
I had no idea that this Globalization class was so intense. It was such a long ongoing process and so very insightful. At the beginning of the semster Martha and Jerry taught us about blogs, flickr, delicious, wikis, and wordlines. These were the greatest ways of communicating with the class and communicating your ideas to other people. Wikis were a way of helping and changing another person’s work to have them achieve the best wiki information available. Flickr contained so many pictures that could be uploaded to any site just by giving the person who took the picture credit.
Well beyond learning those skills, I learned more about globalization than I ever thought I could. I learned about outsourcing (companies moving their jobs out of the country) and uploading where the internet is now where the ultimate source of information.
I actually thought Globalization was about America losing jobs and companies going eleswhere. I didn’t realize it was about jobs in other countries gaining the jobs. This is helping prices in America stay low and economies in other countries becoming better because of it. I also did not know about how economics can explain everything about prices, demand, surplus, and supply. Now everything just seems simpler to understand and possibly with a business major, economics will work splendidly for me.
In my first post I talked about how much I wanted to learn in globalization and I was looking foward to the next class.
I was always wondering every class what we were going to learn. I still want to learn more about this subject and I will when this class ends as well.
Dr. Greenlaw, you are a great professor and this class was intense but very intersting and insightful. This was a great class.
